JamboGo is a tourism marketplace platform connecting travellers with vendors across Tanzania. Our registered office is in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data.
2. Data We Collect
- Account data: Name, email, phone number, password (hashed), nationality.
- Booking data: Dates, room/tour selections, guest counts, special requests, payment records.
- Payment data: Transaction identifiers from our payment provider (NMB Bank card gateway). We do not store card numbers.
- Usage data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, search queries.
- Vendor data: Business name, license documents, tax ID, bank details (for payouts).
3. How We Use Your Data
- To create and manage your account.
- To process and confirm bookings.
- To send transactional emails (booking confirmations, receipts, refund notices).
- To improve our Platform through analytics.
- To comply with legal obligations under Tanzanian law.
4. Data Sharing
We share your data with:
- Vendors: Your name, booking details, and contact information are shared with the vendor of your booking.
- Payment processors: Our payment provider (currently NMB Bank) receives payment-related data under its own privacy policy.
- Legal authorities: We may disclose data when required by law or court order.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
5. Data Retention
We retain account data for as long as your account is active. Booking records are kept for 7 years to comply with Tanzanian financial regulations. You may request deletion of your account; however, booking and financial records may be retained as required by law.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements).
- Object to processing for direct marketing purposes.

We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS, encrypted password storage, and access controls. However, no system is completely secure. Please use a strong, unique password and notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

We use cookies for authentication (JWT tokens in secure cookies) and analytics. By continuing to use JamboGo you consent to our use of cookies. You may disable cookies in your browser settings, but some features may not function correctly.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be communicated by email. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance.
